5 Tips For Choosing The Perfect Wedding Venue

When it comes to planning your wedding, there seems to be a mountain of things to think about and this can be daunting. You have to consider the cake, the dresses, guests, food, venue, flowers, cars, the list goes on. So to make things a little easier, here are a few tips to help with just one very important factor – the venue….

1. Decide on your budget

The first thing before any planning takes place is to decide on a budget, this should be considered at all stages of the planning. Be realistic with yourselves and do some research, your dream may be to get married abroad but can you afford this? If not think of alternatives that are a little closer to home.

2. Think about the guests

Do you have a large number of guests coming? Can they get to and from the venue practically and from a monetary perspective? If you won’t be paying for people to get there, can they pay themselves? It seems silly, but there’s no point in forking out a large amount of money for the perfect venue, but having no guests.

3. What is your preferred date?

If you are getting married in the Summer, will you consider an outdoor wedding to make the most of the nicer weather? Alternatively if it is in Winter can you cope with potentially rainy/snowy weather? Another point to consider is any public holidays, if you are getting married near to easter it may be difficult to book a church at this time.

4. If outdoors – make sure you have a back up plan

Having an outdoor wedding can be very romantic, but in certain countries (the UK) for example, the weather can be quite unpredictable so you need a plan just in case you have any issues on the day. This will mean less stress for you if the weather isn’t as great as planned.

5. Do you have a theme?

If you are having a particular theme, you will want a place that can accommodate particular decorations etc. so be sure to talk to the manager of the venue to make sure this is possible before you settle on a place.
